The things I remember about Marie. She was a loving, wonderful sister. While still at home she used to comb my hair and I used to run and hide because my hair was curly and it pulled when she combed it.

After she married Jack, they moved to Freesoil and lived in an upstairs apartment. I used to stay with them sometimes. I remember they had one room for storage and she made me a playhouse in it. I just loved it.

Later on they moved to Grand Rapids. I remember taking a trip down there one time, I thought it took forever to arrive there. We had such a good time with her and Jack.

Marie attended Ludington High School and roomed there. I remember she had a lot of boyfriends and everybody loved her.

I first met Marie on October 8, 1936 when she and Jack brought Neil over to meet me. We stood up for their wedding which was the next day at her folks, Orton and Teckla's home in Victory township.

After their marriage they lived upstairs at Randolph & Sarah Mendenhall's home in Freesoil for a year (they were Jack & my grandparents) and Jack worked for my father, Carl Lucker, on his farm.

They then moved to Grand Rapids where John was born on April 21st, 1938. Marie died a year later on March 4th, 1939.
