Will: Will of Stephen Osmore of
Hawkhurst, Co. Kent, shearman, dated Jan. 5 1631/32. To the poor of Hawkhurst 10s. To wife
Dorothy for life, an annuity of 50s. to be paid quarterly at the usual feast days, my
executor to give her a bond of 80 pounds for payment of the same. To my son, Thomas Osmere
40 pounds after the death of my wife, to be paid by my executor, who shall give bond of 80
pounds for the payment of the same. To my son James Osmere 12d. To my daughter Mary, wife
of Nehemiah Huckstep 10s. If my wife die before my son John Osmere be twenty-two, he to
have 40 pounds at that age, otherwise he to have that sum after the decease of my wife. To
my daughter Anne Osmere 30 pounds at twenty-two or marriage. To my grandson John Huckstep
5 pounds at the decease of my wife. To my wife Dorothy certain furniture. All residue to
my son William Osmere, whom I make my sole executor. My house and lands purchased by me of
George Peene and his mother, I give to my son William Osmere, he paying the legacies to my
sons Thomas and John. Witnesses: William Pixe, George Pixe, and Richard Kilburn. Proved
