We have done a lot work on our family trees. We have found a lot of information, both the hard way and the easy way. We have both been interested in genealogy for a good part of our lives, and I had even spent some time trying to gather pictures and information about my family in the past. I have several people who had traced parts of my family already for me, so I thought I had a ton of info and I hadn't pursued it too much myself. Dennis was asking me some questions about how to trace your family back, so we went to the library one night and I showed him how to look at census data.

After awhile, we got to a point where we knew as much about his family as we did about mine, so I decided to start digging for my roots some more as well. It didn't take long for us to graduate from the Grand Rapids library and then we headed to the Library of Michigan to devour the info that they had. We also got the opportunity to go to Salt Lake City, Utah this spring and we were able to dig up some more information at the Family History Library there. Genealogy is one of those projects that you never complete; but, we hope that others out there are able to benefit from our research. If anyone finds discrepancies with our data or has additional information, please send us an e-mail. Thanks!
