Will:  The Twenty Seventh day of the Sixth Month Called June In the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred And Seventy five I Stephen Richmond of Exeter in Kings County And Colony of Rhode Island & yeoman Being in health of Body And of Sound Disposing mind & memory which I do___ To Be Truly Thankfull to God for But Calling to mind the Mortally of my body and Knowing it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last will & Testament principally And first of all I Give and Recomend [sic] my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to this Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named and Touching such worldly Estate Wherewith it Hath pleased God to Bless me with in this Life I Give and dispose of in the following manner first of all I ___ will is that all my past Debts & funeral Charges be paid out of my Estate by my Executors hereafter named

Imprimus I Give to my well Beloved Son John Richmond my Case of Bottles after my wife Decease or marriage the reason I Give him no more is Because I have given him his portion in Land by deed already

Item I give to my well Beloved Son Adam Richmond one set of plate Buttons that Belongs to a Jacket and the Jacket that They are on the Reason I Give him no more is Because I have Given him his portion in land by Deed already

Item I Give unto my well Beloved wife mary Richmond the use of the East Room And Bedroom adjoining there to & East Chamber in my now dwelling house and a priviledge in my Cellar to put her Sarie (?) in and the use of all my household goods so long as She Shall Remain my widow also the use & profit of one Cow to be kept on my homestead farm for her So Long as she Remains my widow  Also Ten Bushels of Good Indian Corn & Rey [sic] one hundred pounds of good pork fifty pounds of Beef ten pounds of wool And Twenty pounds of flax And one good fat Lamb yearly and Every year so Long As She Remains my Widow And firewood Cut fit for the fire And Carted to her door as much as Shall need to Burn & a Riding horse to Ride When she pleases (?) yearly and Every year as long as She Remains my widow All which I give her in Lieu of her Right of dower And power of thirds And my will is that my Two Sons Stephen Richmond And Edward Richmond Shall provide And procure and deliver To my Said wife all and Every of the above Mentioned Articles Equally Between them I give also to my Said wife the provisions That I Shall have by me at the time of my  decease I give Also to my Said wife mary one third part of the fruit in my orchard And the priviledge of Raising Saree (?) in my Gardain [sic] yearly And every year So long as She Remains my Widow

I give to my well Beloved daughter mary Richmond the priviledge of Dwelling in the Rooms with her mother So long as She Shall Remain Single or unmarried She not Bringing in any body to molest or disturb my Sons Stephen and Edward Richmond

I give And Bequeath to my five Daughters Namely Mary Richmond Elisabeth Hymes Rebekah Watson Content King And Anna Lawton after my Decease or marriage All my household goods that are not otherways given in this will to be Equally divided Between them or to their heirs

Item I give And Bequeath unto my Two Sons Stephen Richmond And Edward Richmond in order to fulfill And perform what is in this will Injoined [sic] on them for my sd wife Mary my homestead farm with my Gristmill & all other Buildings thereon Lying in Exeter aforesd To Be Equally divided Between them which Lands I give to them And their heirs and assigns forever

I give also to my Two Sons Stephen Richmond And Edward Richmond my Loom and weaving utensils together with all the Rest And Remainder of my moveable Estate that is not otherways [sic] Disposed of in this will to be Equally divided between Them

Lastly I do hereby Constitute make and order My Too [sic] Sons Stephen Richmond and Edward Richmond to Be Joint Executors to this my last will and Testament And I do hereby Revoke And disallow all other or former will or Wills by me maid Rattifying [sic] and Confirming this and no other To Be my Last will & Testament

Stephen Hoxsie And Samuel Hoxsie Two of the Witnesses to the Within And Before Written will personally appeared in Town Council of Exeter August 13th AD 1787 And on their Solemn Engagements did Sevearly [sic] declare that they Saw the Testator Stephen Richmond Sign Seal And Declare sd will to be his last Will And Testament And at that Time he was of A Sound Disposing mind & memory & that they Two Set their hands thereto as Witnesses in the Testators presents [sic] And in the presents [sic] of Each Other And that they Saw the other Witness To wit John Hoxsie set his Hand thereto as a Witness at the same Time And in the Testators presents [sic] For Which Cause sd will is Allowed to Be Lawfully provd And approved By Council
