Death: 25 AUG 1864 Hospital on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
Note: Died of chronic diarrhea during the Civil War. Alonzo’s unit was assigned to the Engineers Corp during the summer of 1864 and was working around Chattanooga building bridges and hospital buildings. Alonzo died of chronic diarrhea on August 25th 1864. He was one of 279 men that died of disease in the 21st MI Inf.  Personal Effects he had at time of death: hat, great coat, blouse, trousers, socks, 2 blankets, haversack, knapsack, clothing brush, silver ring, suspenders, $10.65 (a few more items I can’t quite read)…
Note:  Register of Death of Volunteers says he died of typhoid fever.

Note:  Married by Rev. CH Fisher of Otisco. Witnesses: William and Lucy C. Sitson. p. 422.   Sarah tried to get a pension from Thomas when he died and was told that he still had a different wife so her marriage to him wasn’t really valid. – Gladys Marrison

Will:  A guardian was appointed to Sarah because she wasn’t mentally competent any further.  This was petitioned for by her son.

Death: 27 JUL 1900 Belding, Ionia Co, Michigan
Note: 75 years 2 months 17 days old.  Died from pneumonia.

Burial:  Otisco Twp Cemetery, Ionia Co, Michigan.
