Details: On Sept. 1643, Ann Hutchinson and five of her children were massacred by Pequot Indians at Pelham Bay, Long Island, New York. Ann`s youngest child, Susanna was taken captive. She was released four years later. Richard Maxson and his family escaped by small boat. Richard and son, Richard went back to try to help Ann and her children. They also were killed by the Indians. Rebecca and her remaining children rowed the boat to safety at Rhode Island.
